Digital Camera SIG Meeting, July meeting notes for June 2007 JULY 4TH assignment:

Thirteen photographers showed up for the July DIGICAM meeting. That included three guests from Rockport.

We started out by finishing up last month’s photos having to do with back lighting. Drew Jacobs showed her many pictures some of which used side lighting. Subject matter included people, birds, bottle water dispenser, green leaves, blossoms and flowers. Really a nice effort. I get the feeling that the more people put into their showings, the more they get out of it.

The current assignment was the fourth of July. Unfortunately a lot of people got rained out that day. However, Bill Draper got some boating pictures; Bruce had photos of people get together on the 4th plus photos of a CAUG meeting including the raffle drawing. Mira Guion showed some beautiful pelican photos and other subjects that would make a long list (pet dog, long horn cattle, bugs, kittens, out door kiln, bird eggs, brown/white alpacas, a falcon etc. etc.) WOW! Patty braved the weather reports and got some Rockport fireworks photos. John Hoffmann showed three slide shows of Washington DC museums visited in June. Drew got some nice fireworks photos.

Since we are in the main library, we are able to connect to the Internet via WiFi. We did this so Bruce could walk us through a May dpReveiw regarding making photos at very poor resolution i.e. ISOs of 1000 and higher. Need to do that when there is little light available. Very interesting.

Our next monthly assignment to be presented at our August 21 meeting is HOUSE HOLD ITEMS. There ought to be something in that subject for everyone.

See you next month –
John Hoffmann
