Photo assignment:

65. May 2008 meeting assignment to show at June meeting:

Whiskers!

Whiskers come in all shapes, sizes, and on many different surfaces besides your stately professor's chops! Drew Jacobs is challenging us to find the most interesting and creative whiskers we can find. I think we're up to it! So that's the challenge for the May 2008 assignment to be shown at the June meeting.

Bring your ten best images to the meeting, and let us know what you did to get those shots by including EXIF information with each photo.

Also next meeting, come find out what a work flow is, and watch one in action. Judy Henderson's presentation has been rescheduled for the June 2008 meeting. She'll walk us through one of her typical work flow sessions, from camera to post-production. Thanks, Judy!!

DigiCam SIG met on Tuesday, June 17.

This assignment ate more than a few lunches. Two intrepid folks brought in whisker photos. Several others, including the person who suggested the assignment, were unable to finish in time, so those photos will be viewed at the July meeting (you're not off the hook, folks!! And that includes your intrepid leader; I didn't get mine in, either! <grin!).

Ken Parsons really got creative with his photos. After a few requisite human hair subjects, Ken immediately ducked out of the box and went after "whisker-like" things - an inspiratory move! Check out his creative submissions in our assignment's slide show, linked above.

Eve Kerr took advantage of her many travels to foreign lands, bringing us fun shots of bewhiskered folks from around the world.

Thanks to Ken and Eve, and to fellow member Judy Henderson for a memorable presentation on work flow. Judy took us through her typical approach to photo editing from out of the camera and into CS3 Adobe RAW. We all learned quite a few valuable tips and tricks on using the RAW editor to best advantage for basic photo handling.
